Vandanaa Murali

Head Coach | Tennis Pro - USPTR, AITA Certified

Coach Vandanaa started playing tennis at the age of four and loved the sport instantly. She started competing in the international circuit at the age of 13 and played over 110 matches reaching a career-best singles ranking of 163, a doubles ranking of 144 in the World Junior ITF, and a WTA ranking of 727.

  • Played for India in the World Youth Cup, Jakarta, Indonesia
  • Represented India in the World Junior ITF tournament, U-14.
  • Trained at ITF Academy for High Performance in Fort Lauderdale, FL
  • Former WTA World-Ranked Tour Professional

 

Ryan Thomas

Tennis Pro

Coach Ryan has been teaching for 20 years and is a graduate of the Professional Tennis Management: Recreation Leadership Program in Tyler, TX.

He interned at the famous Evert Tennis Academy. Recently, he was Head Pro at The Dominion Club in Glen Allen, VA. A favorite time in his career was co-creating a tennis academy in Charlotte, NC, with a partner from the college program.

When not on the court, Coach Ryan devotes his time and skills to www.byryanthomas.com, a wood carving and reclaimed art enterprise. In addition to tennis, he is a lover of juggling, nature, animals, church, and family.

Nick Davis

Tennis Pro

Coach Nick has been an avid tennis player since graduating from Park View High School of Sterling, VA, in 2005. During his freshman year of college at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, he served as the Assistant Team Manager for their Division 1 Men’s Tennis Team. 

Over the past five years while living back in VA, he has taught high school science courses in biology and environmental science, coached boys’ and girls’ high school tennis teams, and instructed red, orange, and green ball tennis lessons.

Building self-confidence, guiding consistent growth, and promoting sportsmanship are core focal areas of his approach with young athletes. Coach Nick looks forward to supporting your budding tennis player’s progress and achievement.

David Caravati

Tennis Pro

Coach David has extensive coaching experience with middle and high school students and is the current head coach for the Maggie Walker Governor’s School Boys’ Tennis team. He grew up in the Richmond area and trained locally while helping his teams win state championships in high school. He played club tennis at Virginia Tech and has stayed involved through USTA leagues across Virginia.

Coach David has taught freelance private lessons for kids and adults of all ages and loves fostering a passion for tennis in each athlete he works with. As a Goochland resident, he is super-excited to join Yello Club and see the local racquet sports community grow. He has a wife, Natasha, and two young sons
