Reservations
How early can I make a reservation?
Player Level members can reserve up to 2 weeks in advance. Podium Level members have 30 days. This should give you plenty of time to reserve before non-members so plan ahead!
Can I add a guest to my reservation who is not a member?
YES! You can always bring guests who are non-members. The Guest fee is $12/1 hour, $18 for 2 hours, $24 for 3 hours and $30 for 4 hours. Please remember to have them fill out a FREE non-member account so we can attach them to your reservation and ensure their waiver is signed. Pass this link on to them:

The benefit to having them create a Non-Member Account for you is that you will not be responsible for their fees; if you only add them as a guest, you may have to pay for them. Of course, you can always pay for your guests as well so feel free to add them as a Guest (not a Player) in that case.
Can a non-member rent a court?
YES! They can rent the courts at the hourly fee of $50/hour (includes 4 players; $12.50/person for any additional players). Note, they can only reserve a court up to 5 days in advance. Please direct them here to reserve the court via Court Reserve and see our availability:

My guest fees don't seem right. They are charging us a different amount than you said above.
Don’t pay them if they seem off, but feel free to continue to make the reservation so you can save your spot (try listing them as Guests instead of Players first). Email Lauren@YelloClub.org and she’ll make sure they are correct, just include your reservation details.
I am trying to make a reservation but it won't let me.
Sometimes non-members will not be able to be added to the reservation on your end because of booking restrictions. Add them as a Guest for now (do not use the Player option) and then email Lauren@YelloClub.org and she’ll attach them to your reservation. If that doesn’t work, please list the date, time, and players you want to add. If it is urgent (within 12 hours) simply call 804-324-3333 and we will get it worked out.
I'd like to make a reservation but the time is blocked off. Can anything be done?
Sometimes we are able to move things around if there aren’t enough people signed up for a program, or if things are flexible. Can’t guarantee it, but it doesn’t hurt to email and ask! Lauren@YelloClub.org
I'm having trouble seeing what the pickleball calendar is. Is there an easier way to view it?
Yes! Simply go to Book a Court > Book a Pickleball Court and it will take you to the current day’s calendar. From there you can sign up for any Open Play or see what reservation times are available. This is a much easier view with just the Pickleball courts on it. Scroll right to see other days of the week.
I have a group of 8+. Can I reserve both courts?
YES! This is a member-only perk now available for you to do yourself in the app. Simply select either “2, 3 or 4 hour Pickleball Rotational Play (8+ Players)” under Reservation Type and make sure to also select BOTH Pickleball Courts after choosing your duration of time. This requires a minimum of 8 players, maximum (recommended) 16. Again, if they are players in the system, they can then pay for themselves. It will be $18 for two hours, $24 for 3 hours, and $30 for 4 hours as member guests.
We made a reservation for X hours but want to stay for an extra hour (or add an extra player). Can we do this?
Absolutely — as long as no one else has reserved the court after you. Simply email Lauren@YelloClub.org or text me 804-592-6033 and let me know you are extending your reservation (or adding a player) so I can adjust the charges. This needs to be done prior to you leaving the courts so we can alert our scheduler not to auto-bill an over-stay policy. We have a 15 minute grace period where you are welcome to finish up your games without being charged for an extra hour (if no one else has a court reservation after you), but anything over than that will be considered an extension. Unfortunately we have had some people abuse this system in the past so in order to keep things fair for all we hope you can respect the policy and simply let us know when you are extending before the system flags an over-stay. Over-stays are billed at a non-member rate ($12.50pp/hour) if the policy is habitually abused.
Our friend showed up unexpectedly. Can they play? How do they sign a waiver?
YES! Just make sure they attach themselves to your reservation by scanning the QR code on the Pickleball door or at the front desk. It also helps if you text/email us above. They need to have a waiver filled out before they can play, for everyone’s safety.
What is your reservation cancellation policy?
We ask that you cancel your reservation as soon as possible if you know you won’t be able to make it, so it opens the court up for others. Player Level memberships are asked to cancel 6 hours in advance without penalty, and Podium Members have a 2 hour grace period. However, we do understand that things come up last minute! Just email Lauren@YelloClub.org and we will work it out.
Open Play FAQs and Reminders
How does Open Play work?
Open Play means you share the courts and rotate in with whoever is there. If groups agree to playing separately, then mixing together is not needed, but the spirit of Open Play means sharing court space with one another and getting to play with different players. We encourage you to meet new players to play with! Likewise, we strongly advise you to sign up for the time slot that makes the most sense for you in terms of skill levels and sometimes age (55+). If we notice you are not in an appropriate slot, you will be removed and notified.
Can you set up Open Play for me and my friends?
We would love to set up an Open Play time slot for your group of friends, if you have at minimum 8 players interested in coming on a weekly basis. With numbers less than that, you would just need to reserve a private court rental or simply set up your own Private Rotational Play as outlined above. When we set up public Open Play time slots, please understand that these times are subject to change and also available to other members who may want to sign up as well, to help foster our community and create connections. Email Lauren@YelloClub.org to get your time set up- we can’t wait to meet your friends! Please also know that if your Open Play time slot does not fill up on a consistent basis it may be eliminated and you are encouraged to reserve private court rentals included with your membership, so that the other court can be made available.
What is the No Show Open Play Policy?
To keep Open Play running smoothly for everyone, we ask all members to please cancel their reservation at least 2 hours in advance if they can’t make it. When players register but don’t show up, it affects the entire group—others expect fuller courts, and we end up blocking off additional space that could have been used for member rentals. Open Play courts will be cancelled if spots are not filled up 4 hours prior so this ensures you can book them if needed. Starting immediately, a $15 drop-in fee will be applied to your account for any Open Play no-show without timely cancellation.
Is Open Play on both courts?
Not always. It depends how many are signed up, or if we have another reservation during that time. Sometimes if we do not have a lot of signups, we will have to limit the amount of registrants and limit the play to one court. We do aim for most sessions to be on both courts to allow for more registrants but this is not guaranteed. We will never make you wait for more than 1 game during Open Play so we set a max registrant limit depending on court space.
What is the minimum number of players needed for Open Play?
Open Play will be cancelled at least 4 hours prior if not more than 2 people are signed up. We assume if two are signed up they may still want to go and hit around together, or play Skinny Singles (google that if you don’t know how to play, it’s fun!). If 6 or less people are signed up, one court will be made available for reservations.
General FAQs
Are the courts open on Christmas/New Year's/etc.?
YES! Our courts are open 24/7/365. That’s one of the perks of Yello Club…we want it to be your second home! You should have a personal access code to open the doors (if not, email Lauren@YelloClub.org and she will get you all set up). Rain, snow, holidays — you can come in and play as long as you can get to Yello!
The doors are locked/lights are off. Help!
Use your code or ring the doorbell. If that doesn’t work, text or call us (804-324-3333) and we can open the doors and turn on lights. There is a light switch by the door on the Pickleball courts. The system is set up so they should be on before you get there, but sometimes we make mistakes, or reservations are made without enough lead time. Apologies!
Can I play my own music?
Yes! That’s one of the things we love about having a small, private space. The first court has instructions below the speaker on how to connect to the WiFi and sound system. Please make sure that if there is another group on the other court, you are all okay with the music and volume being played.
My spouse wants to play. Do you have a couples membership?
At the time, no. In order to continue offering free Open Play, you’ll need a separate membership. We are considering it for the future and welcome feedback.
Can I play under the Glow Lights?
YES! Anytime you have both courts rented out, you are welcome to use the glow lights complimentary. Just email Lauren@YelloClub.org so she knows you want to use them and can have it ready.
I have a tennis membership. Can I play?
Yes you can always drop in for pickleball Open Play or reserve a court, however the Pickleball memberships are separate from tennis. Here is a link to all of the memberships available:

My biggest recommendation is to never pay full price! Email me and I’m happy to give you some guidance as well as provide discount codes for local and online retailers.
I'd like some lessons. How can I start?
Please call 804-324-3333 and we can tell you more about what offerings we have available. We have private, semi-private, group lessons as well as clinics, series and special events coming up. There are so many options, different instructors and varying availability that it’s easier to chat and see what works for you.
